Dirk K

Dirk K is an accomplished guitarist, whose carrier begun in the early 1990s. Releasing 14 CD's as a Recording Artist on Sony, Bellaphon, Fuzzy Music and on his own independent label DIP Records. 

 

In addition, Dirk K released 8 CD's with band projects and produced and recorded over 30 CD's for other artists. He is presenting his unique guitar style blending Jazz, Flamenco and Brazilian music. Dirk K performed and recorded with renowned artists such as Randy Brecker, Peter Erskine, Toots Thielemans, Dave Weckl, Brandon Fields, Alan Pasqua, Marc Johnson, Terri Lyne Carrington, Gary Meek, Rick Braun and many more. Touring the USA and Europe several times with his band featuring trumpeter Randy Brecker and saxophonist Andy Middleton and pianist Alan Pasqua. In addition he also toured with Das Ueberschall, Quartet Equinox, Joe McBride Band, appearing at Schmidteinander, a show hosted by Harald Schmidt in Germany. 

 

In 1998 Dirk K received his Greencard for extraordinary abilities in the field of music in order to perform and reside in the USA. Some of his carrier highlights are playing the National Anthem for the LA Lakers at the Staples Center, receiving a Shaq hero award by Shaquille O' Neal and receiving an award from the Raiders wide receiver Tim Brown. He opened up for Sonny Rollins at the Liege Jazz Festival in Belgium.
