Mark Wood | Children's Show

Mark Wood began playing children’s music in 1989 when his daughter, Lacey began pre-school. Soon thereafter, Mark became a staple in the Newport Mesa Unified School District, playing for and teaching K-6 grade students all the great songs from the past including "Oh My Darling, Clementine", "Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built For Two)" and "Oh! Susanna". He also stayed true to old favorites such as "Down By The Bay", "Old MacDonald Had A Farm", "The Hokey Pokey" and others. These great tunes inspired Mark's original children's songs, "The Snap", "Snap Snap-A-Long Song" and "Just Read", which was featured and performed with his students on the local PBS show, Real Orange. "Just Read" later became the primary song used to promote reading by PTAs in more than twenty states. Mark has been performing for children internationally for nearly thirty years and always has the same result: lots of smiles, singing and a great time had by ALL!
